The 2025 AFCON will be the 35th edition of the biennial continental tournament organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), and will be held in Morocco from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.
Qualifying for the tournament will take place in three ‘blocks’ in September (Matchday 1 & 2), October (Matchday 3 & 4) and November (Matchday 5 & 6) of 2024. The top two teams in each qualifying group will advance to the AFCON tournament.
Matchday 1 and 2 fixtures are taking place from Wednesday 4 September to Tuesday 10 September 2024.

15h43 – Rwanda 0-0 Nigeria: Victor Boniface comes agonisingly close to opening the scoring after a shot inside the area struck the crossbar. In looking to follow up with a header toward goal, Ademola Lookman fails to generate enough power behind his effort which has been cleared away with ease.
15:37 – South Sudan 1-1 South Africa. Teboho Mokoena misses a great chance to give the visitors the lead and it remains 1-1 in Juba.
15h29 – Rwanda 0-0 Nigeria: Nigeria are beginning to show more dominance on the ball with Rwanda falling deeper into their own half as result of the constant pressure by the Super Eagles.
